FIM Junior Gp: Final Round in Valencia

It is on the Ricardo Tormo circuit, track which will be the scene of the final of MotoGP in a few days, that the one of FIM JuniorGP takes place. A last opportunity for our French rider Guillem Planques to demonstrate his skills. After a good weekend in Aragon Alvaro Fuertes wants to repeat his good time and qualification, finally, Blai Trias will seek to raise his level and ensure a direct qualification.
Did the riders of the First Bike Academy, Guillem, Blai and Alvaro triumph in Valencia?

The first clashes of the weekend
The conditions are excellent, although a little hot at the end of the day, to begin the tests of Thursday. We find Alvaro in group A, Blai and Guillem in group B.
Alvaro and Blai are in a good rhythm, and are doing the laps with a lot of regularity.
Guillem also starts his weekend very well, unfortunately, a big fall in session 2 interrupts his progress. On the material side, we will have to rebuild part of the bike, to be able to do the last session. Our technical team will do it. On his side, our French rider is a little shaken but it will take more to destabilize him, he indeed succeeds in taking again his rhythm without problem.
Guillem ” In the first session, the rhythm came quite quickly. The confidence is there, we work with the team on the settings and weak points. In the second session it worked but I lost the front in a very fast corner, some work on the bike. I was able to do the last one which allowed me to quickly get back on track and finish this test day on a positive note. There’s a way I can beat my best time here over the weekend. »

The official tests
Friday underlines the first day of official tests, our three riders approach this day with confidence. Indeed a sharp knowledge in the field since our riders want to demonstrate their capabilities to their opponents. Alvaro Fuertes made two very good sessions not leaving the top 10.
Alvaro “very good day today where I did nothing but improve my lap times. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s qualifying session to be even faster”.
As for Blai, the Spanish prodigy confirms his form of the weekend with a 10th place in the morning, a 14th in the afternoon.
Blai ” a rather positive day where I improve my lap times continuously. I am regular and it is a good omen for the qualifications. I can still progress”.
On the French side, Guillem climbed up to 13th position but seemed to have problems in sector 1. On the other hand, it turns out that group B is the fastest. The objective for our two drivers concerned is to put everything in place to make a good lap during the qualifications of the next day.
Guillem “Today I concentrated on the adjustments of my chassis following the big crash yesterday. The feeling is good. I will work a little on my driving to be efficient in qualifying.

A day under the sign of qualifications
The slightly lower temperatures for this Saturday of qualifications does not seem to prevent the young riders of the European Talent Cup to beat all records. Indeed the pole positon was made by an incredible lap in 1’41’2, let’s remember that the best time in Moto3 Grand Prix is 1’38’6… so it’s barely more than 2,5 seconds that separate the Grand ¨Prix moto3 from the best young riders of our excessively raised category.
Despite this level, our goal will be to qualify our 3 pilots. In group A, Alvaro misses Q1 but makes up for it in the afternoon by getting the 12th time in his group.
In group B, Blai is 13th, he will start just behind his compatriot on the grid.
Guillem will realize 2 beautiful sessions, by realizing a 1’42’3 he is classified 8th of his group, it missed only a small quarter of second to be placed in second line…
Here’s the starting grid of the last round of the season for our First Bike Academy riders.
Guillem Planques 12 eme
Alvaro Fuertes 20 eme
Blai Trias 21 eme

The last of the season
The public is present in this last round of the FIM Junior Gp championship on the Ricardo Tormo 2022 track.
The Warm Up allows the team as well as the pilots to fine-tune the settings as well as to establish the strategies of races to be the most powerful possible from the extinction of the lights at 12 o’clock.
An iron will for our three riders to make the colors of the team shine for the last race. A tempting prospect because the outcome of this Sunday will mark the end of this beautiful season.
The tension rises, the grid fills up step by step! The lights turn green, Guillem confidently makes an excellent start, as usual. From the first turn he places 6th, and realizes a dazzling beginning of race. Unfortunately, he was hit by a competitor at the second turn and was forced to end his race. A huge frustration for our French rider who was able to renew a Top 10 this weekend.
On the Spanish side, Blai and Alvaro respectively made a correct race, improving their lap time. It is on a positive note that the two Spaniards will finish this season.
We can be satisfied, see very satisfied with the work done by our tricolor rider this season, who since the first time of his career fought in the front positions.
